Jan 03, 12 Flooding?

The monsoons used to be very predictable in Sabah, just ask any local over the age of 30, we remember very distinct periods of having the rainy season and the dry season.  Today however this distinction is no longer clear.

Early December was still dry-ish (by monsoon standards) but then towards the end it started to truly pour and here we are in early January and find that to gain access to our office at the Sabah Wildlife Department HQ in Sukau (which they are kindly sharing with us), we have to come in with boats.  A bit of a hassle as we begin our Annual General Meeting!  Good thing majority of HUTAN – KOCP staff are Orang Sungai (River People)!
